Complaint on Gaelic role rebuffed 2 Months, 4 Weeks ago Karma: 7  
It looks as though we're still being told what we'll have - and like it! A Scottish Government protest over the appointment of a former Labour MSP to head a Gaelic broadcasting body has been rebuffed by a Commons committee.

It complained after Alasdair Morrison was made chairman of MG Alba, formerly known as the Gaelic Media Service.

Culture minister Linda Fabiani had "serious concerns" the appointment was not politically impartial.

Is this the New Labour Gaelic propaganda station?

If so, who is paying for it? Does it come out of our tax pound?

I am reasonably confident that this is not the case, largely because as far as I am aware Alasdair's appointment has not been criticised to any great degree by the Gaelic lobby which, of course, has a strong nationalist element within it.

Come on you CAN'T be that naive!!

ALL appointments to quangos are politically partial its just they have a 'gentleman's agreement' to divvy up the spoils among themselves equally.

Aye, and there'll be a mad scamble for quango positions amongst Labour before the next elections methinks. The bunker mentality shines through when you're being dragged squealing from the trough...
