Last night I watched "Fiona's Story" a dark drama centered around Fiona; a young Mother trying to keep her family together after her husband was arrested and charged for accessing and downloading material from paedophile web sites. I was totally engrossed in the unfolding events and wondered where the drama was filmed as the buildings and locations had a familiar ring to them. The actors were all English, therefore I assumed that Bath or some similar location was chosen. However the longer I watched the more I became convinced that Glasgow was the location ! One quick google later, and lo and behold totally filmed in Glasgow.

I enjoyed it, and don't wish to be churlish by mentioning no Glaswegian accents, but it later made me wonder if increasing BBC budgets to the 'regions' means that the ensuing product must be deemed to be for 'national' consumption...or am I just havering again.. ?

I watched that programme too but I don't know Glasgow that well however I was so engrossed in the film I don't suppose I paid any attention. Well spotted though Kendo.

Quite an insight into how a family would react.

I felt that 'Fiona' was too laid back with it all, and the brother in laws' explanation that it was no big deal jarred with me as too much dramatic license. Overall it was quite a moving drama and made for some uncomfortabnle moments ! All I need now is to find out when LOST comes back on to SKY 1 and me and the wife will be in telly heaven !
