PETITIONS I NEED SOME HELP PLEASE 7 Months ago Karma: 2
Hi everybody I have just posted 2 new petitions on Scottish Parliament E-Petitions.
The time they are live on the site is really quite short and I need people who agree with these issues to go to the site and sign the e-petitions.
The site is a little slow just now but go to
www.scottish parliament.co.uk/committees/petitions committee
/e-petitions

The first one is trying to stop the use of live embryos in research and the creation of animal/human/hybrid embryos in research.
Personally I just think the use of human embryos in general is inhumane and the creation of hybrid embryos is beyond any description. It is not even necessary to use embryos as in ten years no research using them has produced any cure for anything.
In the same ten years a minimum of 70 cures have come from the use of adult stem cells.

The second petition is trying to make sure the fathers name is put on the birth certificate when woman conceive through IVF.
We have knowledge of the psychological damage endured by children when they have no knowledge of their heritage and cannot trace their parents. In this case their is no need for this damage to children of the future. This is planned so that if two woman want to parent children they can put both woman's name on the birth certificate but this would exclude the name of the father and give the child no way to trace their biological father.
