This thread discusses the Content article: A good laugh for Mr Cairns

I watched the late night BBC News last Saturday and there was absoutely no coverage of the Scottish Labour Conference whatsover. I'm not a Nulab supporter but thought this was surely newswowrthy for the people of Scotland. I phoned the BBC to complain - all the complaints are logged and the reporters see a list of them every day. I also phoned in last night about Gordon Brewer's disgraceful language regarding Alex Salmond when he was speaking via a link to Glen Campbell in the USA. The more people who complain the better.

Aye BL - I saw that interview (and others). They are becoming blatant in seeking the negative slant. Brewer wanted to know what Salmond was wearing to "Scotland Day" - tartan trews apparently. He ended the link with Campbell by telling him to go get into fancy dress.

Saw a man in the street segment on "Newsnight" I believe it was. The interviewer wanted to know - Conversation or Commission - most folks wanted the Conversation. His response was to try to badger them to change their minds.

The BBC is utterly disgraceful. What really p's me off is that a lot of the Scottish content on their website is now on their "player" and only available in the UK. So I can't watch FMQ's anymore or Eorpa. FLP's.

You could e-mail your complaints about the BBC's biased and bullying treatment of the SNP - if enough people do this they may have to take stock of of their whole approach - we can only try.

BL - the BBC is an organ of the UK centralist state and will not change their approach (the stigmatizing and trashing of the nationalist movement) simply because some Scots complain. Just look at their handling of Wendygate and compare her treatment on the Beeb to what Alex Salmond has to put up with (Kirsty Wark?). Scotland needs control of the media devolved. We need our own broadcasting company with Scottish voices and a Scottish outlook.

I agree we must complain about the SNP's treatment on the BBC. I have stopped watching Newsnight as it's such a disgrace but I don't think this is really the right thing to do as it will make them say there is no interest in a Scottish segment. Where is the best place to send complaints?
Scunnert, you may already know this but most of the content of the BBC website is outsourced to and written by Capita. As we all know, it's one of Labour's favourite companies so I would imagine that they do not want people outside Scotland to have access to anything which might encourage interest in Scotland.

Going direct to the BBC is prob best Meg however there is no guarantee they will act. They were under siege after Kirsty Wark's disgraceful behaviour towards Alex Salmond remember and they did nothing very much about that. I don't think its over the top to say Wark should have been sacked for that so unprofessional was she in failing to disguise her loathing towards him for having had the audacity to win the election.

Thanks for the help Clare. Also couldn't agree more about Kirsty Wark.
