I suppose that we have to have an ENGLISH spell checker on this forum. Does it have to have an AMERICAN accent (and spellings) ?

There isn't a spell checker supplied with the forum. However, you may find that your browser has one which integrates with it automatically.

I use Firefox for my Browser, and I have installed the British Dictionary 1.19 in the Tools/Add-ons.
If you use Firefox goto Tools/Ad-ons and click on the Get Extensions link and search through the dictionaries option, then install the dictionary you need.
Hope it helps.

The main difference seems to be that in "English" English it is the orthodox spelling. In "American " English they use the US spelling of certain words (eg labour/labor).

I just found it slightly amusing that there wasn't an "English (American)" option ! Hell, they think they own the language now !

I heard recently that there are so many Chinese learning English that in future they will be the majority of English speakers.
