"Mr Roy's move has fuelled the suspicions of Mr Brown's allies that he faces a concerted coup attempt orchestrated by John Reid, the former Home Secretary.
Mr Roy is close to Mr Reid and worked closely in the Whips' Office with Siobhan McDonagh..." And Fr Cairns too.
Mmm, looks like a conspiracy organised by London Labour's Lanarkshire Mafia bhoys.

A recent poll suggests that the SNP will walk it but I am not too sure. Brown's political future rides on this result and he is bound to throw all the resources possible to win this seat. However it will be a hard fight and in the end it will be a close run result possibly going to the SNP with a slim majority. If I were to place a bet on the result, I would plump for the SNP to win it only because their activist base is highly motivated and committed and Labour's is not.

The SNP have to Guard against complacency here.

Who remembers the the 1992 General Election?

According to all the polls and the media, Labour supposedly had it in the bag. So much so that many of their activists and voters didn't bother to turn out as it was already a foregone conclusion - the Tories won.

As long as the SNP win, that is all that matters.

Labour are in no position in Scotland (or England) to win elections, and we as voters are less wary than before (by a long chalk) in demonstrating that fact.

Even better, in Scotland at least, we don't have to vote for blue Labour (the tories) to get rid of them, those days are in the past and Scotland looks to a party and government that can progress the Scottish interest.

I don't think it is likely that the SNP will be complacent. The SNP are used to working hard to win. Labour don't like working and let's face it, if you were a Labour activist would you like to go out in the constiuency and explain to all the financial workers who live in Fife and work in Edinburgh, why Brown sold them down the river? Would make a change perhaps from explaining to all the ex miners that Brown was not campaigning in the constituency because he was too busy entertaining Margaret Thatcher.
