I wouldn't blame it all on George W Bush. He is only the figurehead in the Oval Office. The real danger is from his backers. The arms manufacturers and companies like Halliburton who are making billions out of the war on terror. It has created a boom in the US which has a knock-on effect on the whole global economy. But it all has to be paid for and the US government has built up an enormous debt.

The financiers who run the world are finally beginning to reconnect to reality and have realised that the success of the US economy is an illusion. So the value of the dollar is tumbling and the banks have developed a fondness for real assets rather than pieces of paper which are turning out to be worthless.

We're doomed I tell ye. Why is it happening just as I approach retirement age?

Saudi Arabia owns the West. One might think that the allied forces
were merely Saudi proxies in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Apparently this was on TV in Dubai. The lady speaking is Wafa Sultan, an Arab-American psychologist from Los Angeles . Here is her statement on Al Jazeera television.
I think it's quite powerful, and worth the watching.

Pity they did not show the whole interview especially when the Imam went ballistic towards the end.

I can state the obvious I am a Christian, maybe you think its mad but I still go to church - a baptist. I have the most wonderful people who are Islamic. They work hard. Okay they might call thems Jimmy or Bobby. Dont now why the should they are part of Scottish Society.
I have good friends who believe in the teaching of the Koran - I cannot judge them for that any more and ejits who call themselves Christians - enuff said sorry?

Maybe I am missing the point here? I thre is a problem but maybe we make to much of a problem. The Asian SNP is very strong - in a society like our many England vote SNP and the Asian comminity does to - I don't want to alient them like some people I have heard speak of them.

What you highlight is the problem of stereotyping and the kind of lazy labelling that the media and other opinion formers love.

In any community, ethnic group or religious affiliation there will always be a range of views and positions on many things but especially on politics.

To assume that because someone is for example of Asian background that they will automatically have a certain political viewpoint is ludicrous.

Which is something I try to avoid. When I criticise policies or statements I try to seperate the perpetrators from their ethnic background. Thus I can and do blame Bush and his corrupt cronies for the wars and increased levels of terrorist threat. I do blame ourselves as citizens of a democracy for letting TA Blair get away with it. But I do not blame Americans, Muslims, Israelis or any other heterogeneous group for the actions of a few.

I my humble opinion - Mr Bush and BLAIR opened a whole new can worms with the illigal war in Iraq. We will suffer for many year because of this folly. A country like Britain is no longer an EMPIRE and should keep their noses out of a lot of international affairs <not all per say> but most of the recent matters. Only my humble opinion. That is why I vote SNP?

I certainly dont think Smeton should have been made out to be a hero. Yes he's got a lovely <ironic> column in the Sun newspaper. However he talks such shite, somtimes I want to punch him. I appreciate this is not exactly the Islamic topic but he makes Islam bad by some of the things he has said. For instance the SNP are out for all the votes they can get and openly covert with Asian Types - I found that outrageous. This ia a Sun columist! Smeto the first one on the scene at Glasgow airport - sorry I am a sceptic as far as he is concerned.

As I see it he main threat from islam is general intolerance. In many states where muslims are in the majority other religions have a hard time ranging from Saudi Arabia where the public practice of any religion but islam is illegal and carries heavy penalties to Tunisia where there is allegedly freedom of worship but in reality it's almost impossible to get permission to build a Christian church. Meanwhile in the UK we allow the Saudi government to pour £Ms into building mosques and islamic schools.
Until islam in general shows that it's prepared to live in peace with other religions I maintain that it presents a threat, sometimes a lethal one, to all who don't share that faith.

Unfortunately India in some parts is so against Christianity they are burning people out and their churches! Man made religion is a terrible thing - if we only read out Bible and the Koran even it teaches tolerance.
