www.theherald.co.uk/news/other/display.v...r_Luxembourg_DJs.php

Former presenters of Radio Luxembourg, one of Europe's most influential and historic radio stations, were reunited for the first time at the weekend.

If you're of that age (and are happy to admit to being so !), what do you remember of Radio Luxembourg ?

Horace Batchelor of "Keynsham, that's K-E-Y-ENN, S-H-A-EMM, Keynsham, Bristol"

I also vaguely remember someone "Bringing You the Good News About the World Tomorrow"

I remember listening to Radio Luxembourg, but not much else. When I started to listen to radio, Noel Edmonds was doing the breakfast show on Radio 1 (247MW).

Did you listen to Radio Caroline? What was that like?

My Dad shouting "get that peeeeeeeeeeeep noise off", "it is no wonder the kids today are turning out wasters listening to music like that".

Nothing changes generation after generation.

Ok, I'll own up. I can remember listening to it back in the 50s and 60s It was where they played all the latest rock'n roll music and was the only place you could listen to Bill Haley back then. I can remember David Jacobs doing his DJ bit - very smooth voice and Alan Freeman who was great fun. I think Jimmy Saville was there for a while, Kid Jensen started out from there. One of my favourites was Pete Murray - I loved his accent. Jimmy Young was good too and I liked his singing voice although he mainly did ballad type songs.

My soppy sister was going out with boys by then and she liked all the ballad stuff from Perry Como and Jimmy Young. I liked their voices but the lyrics were nauseating!

I remember the Horace Batchelor adverts and seem to recall there was another football pools advertiser on there whose surname was Oliver but I can't remember his first name!
