Tom Daley, a 13-year-old from Plymouth, will become Britain's youngest ever male Olympian after qualifying in the 10m dive competition at the Fina diving World Cup. He'll be 14 years and 81 days when the Beijing games begin and will the record of another diver, Fred Hodges, who competed in the 1936 Berlin Games at the age of 15 years and 94 days.
It's somewhat ironic that a record held since the Berlin Games is being broken when they're being held in Beijing.
