The Olympics 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
The opening ceremony was spectacular to say the least and the occasional shots of George W Bush bouncing up an' down in his seat with a pair of binoculars was quite funny. But is anyone actually bothering to watch the games? I'm not, in fact I'm a bit peeved that the BBC Parliment channel has been temporarily been suspended while the games are on.

Hmmm.. I wonder if London's opening ceremony will be as specacular in 2012 as China's was last Friday?..

I don't bother watching either HJ. With all the designer drugs available, plus synchronised swimming and others of that ilk being classified as "sports" I feel the Olympic spirit has long since evaporated. Because it is practically impossible to tell who is cheating and who is not to me it is all a waste of time.

The other thing about it is that most of those now taking part are professional athletes so all they are doing is their job. I don't see many road sweepers or care workers being awarded medals for what they do.

I know what you mean Brenna and I'll be the first to hold my hands up and say I don't like Andrew Murray even though he's the best thing British tennis has but I love watching Colin playing golf. Will he ever win a Major?.. I doubt it. But is he enjoyable to watch?.. Yes, definately!

Isn't it odd how some people get right up your left nostril? I enjoy watching young Andy play when he is in a good mood. I think he has a lot of talent and a great future when he matures a little more but when he starts his bad tempered posturing I just want to clip his lugs for him!

At the risk of starting WWIII I have to admit that, to me, watching golf is akin to watching paint dry!

I found an article in today's Indi that really puts the Olympics into context. I don't believe that many people outside England's capital city are remotely interested in the 2012 Olympics other than how much it will cost them personally.

I know exactly what you mean about Murray, even Tiger Tim had a go at hime for being a miserable git the other week and Timboy was never a laugh a minute was he?

Golf?.. I love every minute of it, but only playing it not watchin' it on the telly. The Majors usually boil down to the last day and I don't much pay attention to what's going on at the start, the commentary is shit for starters (Ooops sorry, there I go again!) but I do go out of my way to watch Colin. One minute his face is like a ray of sunshine, the next it's black as thunder. The laughable thing is that most golfers at my club are exactly the same: great gear, poncy shoes and clothes but with the temperament of a retarded 10-year-old!

You and me both brenna. Not to mention the polyester trousers and the, ahem, eye-catching knitwear. It makes me want to strangle them with a Pringle sweater.

It's not just synchronised swimming at the Olympics though, there's that leaping around with a big ribbon in the gymnastics. What's that all about anyway?

Thanks for the invite to the Chatroom TLJ. Is it open for a One-Eyed Teddy Bear?

Today's Guardian published some pictures of Dubya at the Olympics. It certainly tickled my chuckle muscle: http://tinyurl.com/6yamla
