The reaction to the "Famine Song" as performed by the many Rangers Supporters of the baboon persuasion seems to me to be hypocritical. Celtic supporters frequently sing equally offensive songs about the IRA and many of them regularly appear in black balaclavas as they did recently at a game against Motherwell. The intervention of the Irish Consul General in this matter is particularly ill judged.
The problem is that bigotry is still encouraged by the culture of both Celtic and Rangers soccer clubs and underpinned by the stupidity of segregated education in Scotland.
I suggest that both clubs should be forced to play every game behind closed doors until they clean up their act and permanently exclude those whose interest in soccer seems to extend only to the group performance of vile chants.
