For any off you who still doubted the arrogance of Lord Coe. Here he is quoted in Metro and London papers.

The creation of the team has been opposed by the Football Associations of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland who are concerned it may compromise their individual status within Fifa.

But he said the BOA, which selects teams for the Games, has decided to press ahead with a football squad despite the opposition.

When asked last night about the opposition from the Welsh and Scots, Coe replied bluntly: “F*** em!”

Hello everyone,
When the nation of Israel entered the Promised Land, their God, Jehovah, instructed them through the Mosaic Law (code) to completely respect the Gentile nations already residing there.

Someone should remind this Lordship of that command!

Joo know what I mean?

It was ever the policy of the English Establishment, that whenever the aborigines of the Celtic fringes objected to a policy, condusive to the English majority, that the frontier natives were advised of their insignificance on the matter.

Whilst I am loathe to follow the noble lord's expedition in to the low vernacular. I am tempted to retort in that well used phrase:-

COE F**K YOURSELF!!

Ach, we've all said things that have been taken out of context. Something said as an aside with tongue firmly in cheek can appear arrogant and condescending when viewed in isolation; ask Andy Murray about his "supporting anyone but England" comment. When he made it he was sitting next to Tim Henman and they were clearly sharing a joke, but there followed a media frenzy about the 'terrible remark'. I remember listening to Jeremy Vine's programme on Radio 2, which was packed from end to end with indignant calls from listeners.

Did he mean it? I haven't a clue, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over the opinions, tongue-in-cheek or otherwise, of one Seb Coe.

The rarified atmosphere of the Upper Chamber may have something to do with this. They should get out a bit more, but not here.
