I'd love a chance to see this film. It is my regret that I don't speak Gaelic, but the small trailer below whets my appetite, or rather the small part of the film I've seen on a more political youtube submission did.

Làn fhìrinn na sgeòil. The truth is in the story. When a young man, Angus, visits his dying Grandfather in hospital he cannot hold back his boyhood quest for the truth - the truth behind the death of his parents and the truth behind his Grandfather's ancient, incredible, fearful stories. Stories from the whole swathe of Gaelic history of poisoned lovers, bloody revenge, water-horses and Spanish gold. His Grandfather hijacks Angus' life for one last time leading him to one of Scotland's most treacherous mountains, The Inaccessible Pinnacle, and an ancient truth he never expected to find.

Will certainly be looking out for this when it comes south of the border dws, but no dates as yet on their website, seachd.com. Had a listen to the extracts from the soundtrack though, An Coire Riasbhach, don’t know what the words mean, but then you don't really need to, it just sounds lovely.

After months of waiting, this film will be showing for only two days at Southampton’s Harbour Lights this weekend and I can’t make it to either showing. - My first rugby match has been re-scheduled from Friday evening to Saturday afternoon and I have a family lunch at my son’s barracks at Windsor on Sunday. Even more annoying is that the director of the film, Simon Miller, will be there on Sunday to answer questions after the screening. I can’t believe that I am going to miss out on this!

Perhaps I should pester and petition my local Arts Centre into screening it too. Have you managed to catch it yet, dws?

Had a wee bit of a drive to get there, but finally got to see this film in Bracknell last night! Surprisingly, OH enjoyed it and while I thought it was good, I wouldn’t say it was brilliant. I did like the wee stories within the story, as Aonghas Padruig Caimbeul was a great storyteller. The soundtrack was excellent and of course, the scenery was beautiful - but then in Scotland you just need to point a camera at the landscape!

I read that last year, the filmmakers were disappointed that the Bafta committee had decided not to submit the film for an Oscar nomination in the Foreign Language films category. To be honest, I didn’t really think it was good enough either.
