This was on the TV up the other night, it was on at the Edinburgh festival last year first (dunno if it was on England's telly) and it was absolutley brilliant, very hard hitting, moving and very well written, i havn't been that transfixed to a play for a long, long time!

You'te right Bigman, it was fantastic. However, the telly version lacked the impact of the live performance. It is one of the slickest and most impressive performances I have seen for a long time.

It is transferring to London and, if you can believe it, the good old USA.

Then I have heard it will tour Scotland again. The NTS tries to get to rural venues, so I would strongly recommend it to anyone who sees it advertised.

This doesn't appear to have been publicised and it's not on their website, but my OH is a teacher in Fife and she received this email.

"Please find listed below the dates for a production of the Blackwatch
at the Rothes Halls. It is aimed at an audience of S5 / 6 ( 16
years+) pupils. It is a National Theatre for Scotland production and is
a last chance to see it.

The Rothes Halls is in Glenrothes. I don't know if this is part of a Scottish tour or what, but I'll be getting a ticket ASAP.

I have my tickets for the 2nd of April at the Rothes halls, as far as i know its playing for 6 or 7 nights and its totally sold out!

Just as well i got in early eh?
