I listened to Gordon Brown yesterday make mention that he is determined to see a UK football team take part in the London Olympics. it's interesting to witness Gordon's thought process at work, I therefore wonder if we'll see a UK National Bank, or will it still be the bank of England ?

Why not? It's the Church of England whose bishops get seats in the Lords, and who get to officiate on all State occasions. Perhaps it should be renamed as the Church of Great Britain.

Yes, precisely...Although it would be interesting to know Mr GB Brown's take on that.

It might be best to start with the hosts of this year’s Olympic Games stating that UK athletes compete for the UK instead of England.

Moreover, the Queen should she be the Queen of England or the UK or the Commonwealth.

Oooooo I did like your post Doricman

TLJ if this happens do I get my request for a smiley that can blow a raspberry and what about one that throws vomit.

Would we have a wee picture of oor Geordie on the strip do you think?

NEWSFLASH MASSIVE VOMITING BUG HITS 2012 OLYMPICS FOOTBALL MATCHES.

Of course, Gordon Brown is assuming that Scotland will still be part of the UK in 2012, isn't he? But if our referendum is in 2010 that may not be true.

He's in training already, Lydia. Probably as good at football as he is at everything else he does.

Gordon Brown is still attemping to persuadeFIFA that with would be a one off situation and therfore so should not put the other National teams at jeapordy. I still dont want a UK football time with token Scots in it - no way. As for Tennis Andy Murrey made it pretty obvious he did enjoy playing for Team GB. Most invertment must go into Scotland and we dont have the lottery to fall back on. Its time funding changed. Scotland should enter seperatly for 2012. Where is the momey come from. Westimister might give more momey directly - so expect us to find absolutly everything of a "Block grant" seems unfair. One consolation is that by 2012 brown with gone to his place in he Lords and obcurity.

Hi Ricky, I just find it odd how upset people can get about a football team while they are happy to allow a British government to illegally invade other countries with bombs, which kill more than a million civilians without batting an eyelid.

You must be losing your touch Clare. Why not include Fat Cats, City bonus Porche drivers, Drug barons, Illegal Immigrants, professional scroungers, Single parents, and so on.
Football is football and the worlds other problems are just that.

While we are at it if the Eurovision song contest is more about politics that songs. Why can't Scotland's voice be heard - all the other nations are very negative about the UK and it shows in their voting. I wonder if the result would be different if Scotland wanted their vote?
I suspect we would do alright.

You only have to look at Irelands past success's to realise that your assumption is a valid one.

Now that is a good idea, I don't watch it but I would if Scotland entered.
