....At last, a black-American president....

I'm relieved that Mr Obama won and he seems to be quite a sensible fellow too. However why is everybody so excercised about him being the first "black" president? More than half of the population of the US is female but there's never been a woman in the top job. In general I think we should forget all this nonsense about encouraging ethnic minorities into positions of power and remember that women aren't fully represented in public life. Our Parliament has set a good example but there's a lot more to do yet.

It's something to be applauded when you think of the apartheid which existed in America 40 - 50 years ago. That said, I'm sure that had the first female President been elected, just as much - if not more - celebrating of that breakthrough would be being done.

With the declaration of the first black president elect in the USA, it has to be asked, who were the most overjoyed by the result?

May I humbly suggest Malia Ann aged 10 and Natasha aged 7, the daughters of Barak and Michelle Obama!

Their father promised them, that if he were to be elected to the position as the worlds most powerful man, he would buy them a puppy!

No doubt the girls are ecstatic the American people see things their way!

If the first action of the president elect is to fulfill the dreams of two little girls. Perhaps politicians do keep promises?

I hope he lives up to expectations Ricky, he certainly can't be any worse than the present imcumbent, and I'm pleased he won.

However, I can remember 1997 when all were singing "Things can only get better" and a weird sort of euphoria swept the UK...and look what happened here...

A bit droll but perhaps true mate.

Obama has inherited a lot more shite than Blair di....No wonder Bush is pleased to get the firk out!

Bush, like Blair will be fine throughout the "credit crunch" (otherwise known as an "economic cuckooland f*ck up`) and so will Brown, even though he will not represent labour as a PM at a UK election if they lose Glenrothes tomorrow.

regardless, im keeping my eyes wide open. After these past years, I have every right to be a little weary of whomEVER gets the position. It greatly affects us. Ive been EATING it for TOOO long.

I heard that George Washington refused to do another four years because he didnt want anyone to get the idea that it was a monarch in anyway... I thought that was very revealing of what kind of man he was. Very serious for his countrymen. On that saying....I will not let my eyes get clouded up with the muddle that people deliver about any leader. Facts please. Im glad that you all helped me to see truthes too. thank ya.

Im not a Bush basher. He had many of the democrats right there with him... pledging by their own decision to follow him into the fires.... And then they scandalously pulled out after the math... it was very telling of how THEY operate. When the goin gets tough: they get going!!!!! I believe he has tried to do the right thing and sometimes it wasnt right... but he tried to follow through and finish what he started. I remember the iraqis crying to him about their own country.. the cries of torture and the begging for him to do something. With the threat of MD that was 'very real' at the time... I dont discredit why he believed we must do what we had to do. Especially when the whole country was like a pressure pot ready to burst... Hell, Clinton was right there with him. I get very tired of the turntails that whine years later. We just need to make it right with them and do what we can to make it better. Cant go back wishing on a well.

This year my friend's hubby is headed out. He has MANY children. They know he must go. He knows where is duty lies and he will do what he has to do. With honor. Im proud of him. He will make his boys and all of us very proud. One day... Iraqi will be a booming metropolis just as your countries. They will be on road to a great future with their children. I have no doubts.

The JOB in iraq is minor compared to the disaster going on in our abortion clinics acrossed our great nation. ITs an atrocity. the abortions have done nothing but increased in the tenfolds since it was set forth. Its truely sad that we dont have more value to our first borns than we do... Tender babies that are protected and warm... and well fed in the comfort of the womb being lawfully slaughtered because their lives are unnecessary. Truely sad. the numbers of babies being slaughtered completely outweigh our troops by unbelievable proportions... the monies granted to these atrocities are over the top too!!! Theyve made a greedie factory line out of our ladies and their precious babes in the womb...indoctrinating them that their lives/lifestyle is way more important than the life held inside... what a shame. Mine eyes hath awakened. We have a LOT of cleaning to do!!!!!!!!

Pray for us as a nation that we get our collective heads together and straighten these messes out. Its going to take a little more than the leader of the free world to fix this... the people are going to have to get their head out of their arses.
peace be with y'all. cya soon!(hugs)
by the way.. Palin for 2012!(yeehaw)
