Ever wondered who were the pioneers who calculated pi, then take a look at this:-

Hmm... but then I wonder about this.

Everybody knows that the value of pi is 3.14…er, something, but how many people know where the ratio came from? Actually, the ratio came from nature--it's the ratio between the circumference of a circle and its diameter, and it was always there, just waiting to be discovered.

Where exactly do we find circles in nature?

Didn't men invent the wheel?

Sure, but they didn't invent the circle...

The Volvic add comes to mind here where enterprising Stone Age lads chiseled a large rock into the first wheel with a suitable hole in the center.
The next scene has the wheel on the ground with a substantial tree trunk firmly in the center, and a bikini fur clad young maiden doing her pole dance routine for the admiring hairy lads.

Another necessary piece of information has suggested that our clocks and watches got an unwelcome nudge from the recent Chilean Quake.
